A study led by MAC member, Dr. Ismail El-Hamamsy, at Mount Sinai found that the Ross procedure delivers excellent long-term outcomes—including survival rates comparable to the general population and over 96% freedom from reintervention at 12 years—and may be effective for a broader range of patients, including adults over 50 and those with aortic regurgitation who were traditionally not considered ideal candidates.
